How do I get screened?

Screening is totally voluntary and you can refuse to have a test. If you do decide to have a test, you will be asked to complete a "test request" form and provide a urine sample or swab. The information you give will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Information about you and your results, but not your name and address, will be sent to the Health Protection agency for monitoring and evaluation of the screening programme at the national level.

You have the right to refuse to answer any of the questions on the "test request" form, but we encourage you to complete it to the best of your ability.

Always carry a condom
